How Nano Connect handles your data

What stays on your device

The following is stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. It is never uploaded to Nano ISP or any third party:

• Router credentials — the IP address, port, username, and password you enter to let the app configure your router. These are used only to talk directly to your router over your own local network.
• Session state — whether you're signed in as a guest or a member, and your consumer number if you signed in.
• Saved diagnostic targets — custom hosts you've added to the latency/ping tools.
• Speed test history — past ping, jitter, download, and upload results from tests you've run, plus which server you last selected.

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this.

What leaves your device, and why

• Speed tests — when you run a speed test, the app exchanges test traffic (randomly generated data, no personal information) with a Speedtest.net-registered server — Nano ISP's own node by default, or Wateen Telecom's if you switch to it — purely to measure throughput and latency.
• Public IP lookup — the Dashboard's Network Overview shows your public IP and provider name by querying ipinfo.io. Your device's public IP address is sent to that service to look this up, the same way it would be to any website you visit.
• Network tools — Ping, traceroute, port scanner, DNS lookup, and the discovery scanner send requests to whatever host or address you point them at, exactly as directed.

Permissions the app asks for

Android requires location permission before any app can read Wi-Fi network details like the SSID, signal strength, or nearby access points — this is an Android platform rule, not something Nano Connect uses to track where you are. The app does not read, store, or transmit your GPS location.

Wi-Fi and network state permissions let the app read your current connection's details (band, channel, link speed) and scan for nearby networks in the Discovery tool. Internet access is what lets it reach your router, the speed test servers, and ipinfo.io.

No ads, no analytics, no selling data

Nano Connect doesn't include any advertising or analytics SDKs, and doesn't sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers. The only outside connections it makes are the ones listed above, each needed for a feature you've opened.

Children's privacy

Nano Connect is a utility for managing home network equipment and isn't directed at children, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If what the app collects or connects to changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it.
